The Drawn Game
Cover portrait for The Drawn Game issue 2 — Damien Quinn's illustrated Gaelic Games anthology, drawing hurling legend John Kiely and raising funds for Pieta House and Samaritans.
About the Project
The cover portrait for Damien Quinn's second edition of The Drawn Game — Irish hurling legend John Kiely, drawn for a book I was genuinely glad to be part of.
In Damien's own words: "The Drawn Game is an illustrated look at Gaelic Games. 96 pages featuring artwork from 25 incredible artists and conversations with legends from the world of Hurling, Camogie and Gaelic Football. Proceeds from the sale of each book are going to help support Pieta House and Samaritans. Mental Health is something that needs to be talked about and the more awareness that is out there, the better."
You can buy it here, and support a couple of very worthwhile causes while you're at it.
My usual process, walked through here.
Open any figure to inspect surface, print detail, and framing more closely without losing the overall sequence. Motion plates play inline at full page size.

Sequence note
Every figure here opens full-screen — click any plate to expand it, then arrow or swipe through the sequence without losing your place. The work is drawn at resolutions far beyond the page, so getting closer is actively encouraged.
